When should you propose the SC310?
The SC310 suits the checkout counter. Sitting on its stand, it reads 1D and 2D codes in manual, continuous or auto-sense mode, and its housing is rated IP52. It connects over USB, as an HID keyboard, a virtual COM port or HID-POS, to Windows, macOS, Linux or Android.
Propose it when the counter needs to read QR codes or other 2D codes, such as those on coupons. Its datasheet can be downloaded from its product page.

When should you propose the JCG980?
The JCG980 reads 1D and 2D codes. It suits jobs where staff scan items away from the station or count stock. It connects through a 2.4 GHz USB dongle, paired before delivery, or over Bluetooth, to a computer, terminal, phone or tablet, one device at a time.
Its inventory mode stores scanned codes in memory and uploads them on demand. On its USB cable, it switches to wired mode and charges.

When should you propose the G4POS RTP6A?
The G4POS RTP6A is a full terminal: it reads 1D and 2D codes in about 13 ms and runs Android 14 apps with Google services. It suits inventory counts, receiving and order taking, in warehouses or stores. Its removable 5,000 mAh battery lasts about 15 hours, and it withstands 36 drops from 1.5 m without screen breakage.
Check that your client’s inventory software offers an Android app.

Which other devices read codes or cards?
The DG870GB tablet takes an optional 2D barcode reader, so staff can scan on the floor or on a patio without another device. For 13.56 MHz RFID cards (ISO 14443A: Mifare S50, Mifare S70 and NTAG), the RCU1A types the card number like a USB keyboard, with no driver.
