Which pagers are available for a restaurant?
A restaurant can choose from three families of LRS pagers, one for each person to alert. The table presents each one, with the models that G4POS distributes.
| Family | Who is alerted | How it works | LRS models |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guest pagers (coasters) | The guest waiting for a table or an order | Handed over when the guest arrives, the pager lights up and vibrates at the right time, with no PA announcement. | RX-CS8, RX-CS7, RX-CS6, Alpha Coaster PRO |
| Staff pagers | The employee, for example a server or a food runner | The transmitter, placed at the host stand or the kitchen pass, makes the pager vibrate and show the number or the message. | Vibe (RX-SP6), Vibe+ (RX-AP2) |
| Call buttons | The server, called from a table or from the kitchen | One press on the button sends a request to the staff pager. | Pronto One-Button, Pronto Six-Button |
One setup proposed for restaurants: waiting guests get a guest pager, and servers wear a Vibe pager, which the kitchen triggers with a Pronto button.
For counter service, LRS also offers Table Tracker. The tracker handed out with the order reads the RFID mat under the table and sends its number: guests choose any table, and the kitchen knows where to bring the order.

How does a guest pager work?
A guest pager, also called a coaster, is handed to the guest on arrival. When the table or the order is ready, the host calls it from the transmitter: the pager lights up and vibrates. The guest can wait at the bar or on the patio without worrying about missing the call.
Two transmitters are available. The TX-9561MT in the Standard kit is a keypad transmitter that works on its own, with no Internet connection. The TX-7471 in the Pro kit links to the LRS Connect cloud: it adds the waitlist, messaging and statistics, and can send a text to the guest’s phone.
RX-C guest pagers recharge when stacked on CH-R8 bases with 15 or 30 slots. The RX-CS8 offers five light colours, the RX-CS7 shows the call number on four digits, and the Alpha Coaster PRO displays a message on its colour screen.

How do you alert staff in the dining room and the kitchen?
Staff wear their pager on the belt. You type the employee’s number on the transmitter, and the pager vibrates and shows the number or the message. Servers and food runners are alerted as soon as an order is ready, with no PA calls in the dining room.
The Vibe (RX-SP6) lasts up to 3 days per charge, and its number can be reassigned over the air. The Vibe+ (RX-AP2) displays text messages on its colour screen. One TX-9561EZ transmitter handles up to 799 pagers.
With a call button, the server is requested with a single press. The Pronto repeats an unanswered call, then alerts the manager. It runs on batteries, needs no wiring and mounts with keyhole slots.
How many pagers does a restaurant need?
For guests, count one pager per party waiting at the same time at the busiest moment of the week. Observe that number over two or three peak services. Then add a reserve for units on charge and for losses.
For staff, each employee to be alerted wears a pager. Also list the call points, such as the kitchen, the bar, the host stand and the pickup counter: their number sets the configuration.
LRS kits combine the transmitter, the pagers and their charging base. For guests, a kit holds 5 or 15 guest pagers.
G4POS sizes the system, and the reseller installs it. Before confirming the order, run a test on site: walk with a pager in hand to the difficult spots, such as the basement, the walk-in cooler or the patio.
Where can you buy restaurant pagers in Québec?
G4POS has distributed LRS (Long Range Systems) pagers in Québec since 2016, and its stock is warehoused in Québec. G4POS sells mainly to point-of-sale resellers, integrators and consultants. They install the system and keep the relationship with the restaurant owner.
