A 2D barcode is a matrix code that encodes information on two axes, in light and dark modules. It holds far more data than a linear code, stays readable when partly damaged and requires an imager-based reader.
Why it matters to a reseller
As soon as a client takes mobile coupons, tickets or loyalty cards shown on a screen, a laser reader becomes useless. Quoting an imager from the start costs a little more on the order and avoids replacing the whole fleet a few months later.
