Line-of-sight range is the maximum distance between transmitter and receiver with nothing in between. On a real site, walls, metal, kitchens and floors cut it down: only an on-site test confirms it.
Why it matters to a reseller
A range advertised by a manufacturer is a laboratory measurement; a basement, a stainless-steel kitchen or a terrace at the far end of the building cut it down sharply. Repeating that figure as-is in a quote gets a reseller into trouble. Plan an on-site test to measure the real range.
