Prefix, suffix and terminator

Characters appended to the scanned data · CR, LF, Tab

Prefix and suffix are characters a reader adds before and after the scanned data. The terminator, usually Enter or Tab, tells the application that the scan is complete.

Why it matters to a reseller

Many programs expect an Enter after each scan; others require a prefix that identifies the source. A reseller who can program these three values configures a reader for any software, without calling the vendor. It is the setting that unblocks the most installs.
